“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure”. This quote by Marianne Williamson is a reminder that so often we are playing small and not living up to our full potential.

In this week’s blog we’re going to be exploring 3 interesting facts about tapping into your potential. You’ll discover how you can trick your brain into believing you already have the success you want. What to do if your negative thoughts are holding you back from achieving your goals. Lastly, how a simple daily tweak can transform the way you think about yourself and get you results

Are you ready to dive in?

The mind doesn’t know the difference between imagination and reality. This means you can trick your brain into believing you already have the success you want in your coaching business. Tapping into your potential for greater sales and impact.

This is one of the reasons I love visualisation. By calming your mind and getting clear on what you want to achieve you can program your subconscious mind to overcome limiting beliefs and create positive change.

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.

Other various techniques such as affirmations, meditation, hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) also have the power to help you tap into your potential.

As the quote by William Arthur Ward says “if you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it”.  If you don’t already, I encourage you to adopt a daily visualisation practice. Check out one of my favourite visualisations on YouTube HERE. It’s just five minutes long so you’ll easily be able to fit it into your day.

It’s estimated that 95% of what we do in life is run by our subconscious mind. Including habits, beliefs and emotional responses. Meaning we’re not even aware of them and we’re running on autopilot. But when we make the subconscious conscious we have the power to transform this and tap into our potential.

Now let’s look at a way in which you can become conscious of your negative self-talk. Every time you become aware you’re telling yourself a negative story, write it down. On a notepad, computer or on your phone. Do this for at least a week. Some thoughts will be fleeting and you will only think it once. But others will be consistent and regular self-talk that you repeat to yourself on a daily basis.

Once the subconscious mind accepts an idea, it begins to execute it.

If you say the same phrase more than once, put a star next to it each time. Over the course of a week you’ll begin to notice a pattern of negative self-talk. Once you’ve got greater clarity on the negative stories you’re feeding yourself you can flip the switch and create a positive phrase from the negative.

Remember the brain doesn’t know the difference between imagination and reality so it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe it at first.

Einstein defines the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Yet, that’s what so many of us do! We repeat the same patterns, habits and negative thoughts and hope that things will change.

The subconscious mind learns through repetition so it’s important that you break out of your old habits and beliefs and break this repetition mistake.

Repeat anything long enough and it will start to become you.

The subconscious mind is very susceptible to suggestions and learns through repetition. This is why habits, both good and bad, can become so deeply ingrained. It’s also why it’s so important to focus on what you want, set clear goals, visualise your future and create better habits.

If you want to learn more about creating positive habits then go check out the book, Automatic Habits by James Clear. By changing your negative thoughts and habits for positive ones you have the power to tap into your potential. This means more impact and sales in your coaching business.
