There was a moment that changed everything for me. I was in my twenties, sitting in a quiet curry house, laughing and chatting with friends. But inside? I was drowning in self-doubt, quietly battling the belief that I wasn’t enough and my self-worth was on the floor.

Then, mid-conversation, one of my friends looked me in the eye and said…

“Suzie, why do you put yourself down? You’re a beautiful, intelligent young woman.”

That sentence cracked something open in me. He believed it…even if I couldn’t.

It was the beginning of a journey to rebuilding my self-worth and confidence from the inside out after years of bullying and telling myself that I wouldn’t amount to anything.

Fast forward 20 years, and I’ve not only rebuilt my self-worth, I’ve designed my days around it. These three daily habits I’m about to share with you have helped me shift from self-doubt to self-trust. They are practices I share with my paid coaching clients too.

I always remember in 2018 when I went to Tony Robbins UPW event in London and him saying “how you start your day is how you end your day.” This has always stuck with me and I’ve since lived by this rule.

This is backed by neuroscience, energy and mindset rolled into one. Most people wake up and go straight into reaction mode i.e. check their phone (which is right beside their bed). Then read their emails, check the news, etc. I do the opposite. Because I know the way you start your day is the way you end your day. So for me, I focus on anchoring in positive thoughts and feelings which support my self-worth.

Small habits create bit change

Here’s what my morning looks like (and what you can try too)…

Meditation: A morning meditation helps me start the day grounded. It gets me in the right energy and helps me deal with any setback that comes up during the day. I particularly like a transcendental meditation with Dr Joe Dispensa for deep healing and connection.

Gratitude journaling: Focusing on what I feel grateful for each morning helps me start my day with joy. It can be as simple as feeling warm and comfortable in my bed as the cat sleeps on my legs. It helps me put things into perspective and increases my self-worth immediately. Gratitude helps us experience more abundance and joy in our daily life.

Heart Healing / Oracle Card Pull: I love Natasha Bray’s heart healing deck, but you can choose any oracle card or angel deck for your needs. What I love about pulling a heart healing card every morning is it gives me guidance. So I can focus my healing and what I need to do to make the most of my day. This helps me address my most pressing issues and helps me stay connected to my intuition and higher self.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique): As a trained EFT practitioner I know the power of this tool to help me address any limiting beliefs or negative self-talk that comes up. I make sure I use EFT as a daily practice, whether it’s part of my morning routine or throughout the day. I use ChatGPT to help me create tapping scripts that are specific to me and the focus of my healing.

Productivity Planner: I love to start the day with a clear intention on how I want to feel and what I want to achieve. The Productivity Planner is a tool I’ve only started using more recently as part of my daily habits and it helps me massively to create structure for my day, increase my productivity and measure what success looks like for me.

Focus on being productive instead of busy

Midday or lunch time is a very powerful time to rest, reset and check in with my energy, stepping away from the computer.

Here’s how I recalibrate…

Step into nature: I’ll often step into the garden, take a few deep breaths, and connect back to the present moment. Just moving my body, connecting with nature and changing my environment massively helps clear away any negative emotions or thoughts.

Nourish myself: It’s always been important to me that I not only look after my mind but my body too. Lunch time is my opportunity to nourish myself with healthy food and I opt for vibrant, plant-based meals that support my body and focus. Lots of healthy fruit and fibre is my go to.

Sound healing: Whether it’s meditation music or a subliminal money meditation, I love to have this playing in the background as I enjoy my food and go about my day. I find it brings a sense of calm, peace and inner clarity to my mind.

Bowl of healthy and nourishing food

This midday reset helps me stay connected to myself, instead of disconnected from my needs.

I used to blur the lines between work and rest and it used to lead to burnout and resentment. Now, as a result of all the mindset and healing work I’ve done, my self-worth is strong. I set very strong boundaries and don’t answer any client emails after 6pm or over the weekend. Because I am worthy and deserving of downtime, which is an opportunity to reconnect with myself.

Here’s my evening routine…

Reflection: I look back over the day and reflect on what went well, what I’m proud of and what made me happy. I close out the day with my Productivity Planner and answer these questions…

1. What was the highlight of the day?

2. What did I learn today?

3. What do I want to remember from today?

Connection & kindness: Whether it’s a walk, reading, or chatting to my gorgeous Irish man, I do at least one thing that makes me feel good.

These simple acts are declarations of worth. They say: I matter, I’m important, my energy matters, my joy matters.

Self-worth doesn't just live in your mindset, it shows up in how you manage your time and energy

That’s why I also use tools like…

Time blocking to create focus and avoid overwhelm

Digital planning systems: So everything has a place i.e. less chaos = more calm

Automations and routines: These give me ease and spaciousness

For me, structure isn’t about control, it’s about freedom and flow.
