Navigating the highs and lows of building a heart-centred business will create moments of self-doubt and a lack of self-trust in all of us. As an entrepreneur, trust in yourself is going to be one of your biggest and most valuable allies. It will help you to stay on course, even when things feel challenging.

In this blog, we’ll be exploring the connection between self-trust and business success. How you can rebuild trust after experiencing a setback and what to do if doubt shakes your confidence in tough times.

Ready to dive in?

Every entrepreneur has tried something new only to see it fall. Whether it’s a strategy that didn’t land or a pitch that missed the mark, setbacks are part of the journey. The key is how you respond to them and not to lose faith or trust in yourself.

Instead of allowing disappointment to damage your confidence, take a step back, reflect and ask yourself…

  • What can I learn from this?
  • How will this experience help me grow?

Setbacks aren't failures; they're opportunities to rebuild and grow

By reframing setbacks as stepping stones, you shift the narrative from failure to growth. Trusting yourself means believing in your ability to bounce back stronger.

When self-trust is lacking, self-sabotaging habits often take hold. From procrastination, overthinking and perfectionism. They can subtly creep in and stall your progress. These habits become silent barriers to success, holding you back from taking the bold steps needed in your business.

Here’s how you can start rebuilding self-trust today…

  • Forgive the past: Whether it’s trust broken by others or yourself, it’s time to let go. Use techniques like Ho’oponopono or EFT / tapping to release negative thoughts
  • Practice self-Forgiveness: Recognise moments where you feel you’ve let yourself down. Write a forgiveness letter to yourself. Acknowledge those moments with compassion, and then consciously release them
  • Celebrate small wins: Every time you honor a commitment, however small, you’re reinforcing trust in yourself. Notice and celebrate these moments, no matter how big or small – they are the foundation for bigger wins

Let’s face it, challenges are inevitable. When fear or doubt creeps in, it’s easy to lose sight of your strengths and all that you have achieved. This is when reflecting on your resilience can be really powerful.

Self-trust isn't the absence of doubt, but the strength to keep going

Take a moment to look back at a time when you faced a tough situation and overcame it. What did that experience teach you about your strength and capability? Allow those memories to inspire confidence in your ability to handle whatever lies ahead.

Remember, self-trust doesn’t mean never feeling doubt. It means knowing that, despite the doubt, you have the strength to keep going.

If self-doubt has been holding you back, it’s time to take the first step towards rebuilding your confidence and trust in yourself again. I’ve created a free Entrepreneurial Confidence Quiz, designed to help you identify where you’re holding yourself back from calling in your soul-aligned clients and make the difference only you can make.
