In 2017 I had a serious mountain bike accident. Over the following two years I set myself the goal of learning to walk again, unaided. I achieved the impossible and did that through thought and action combined.
In this week’s blog I’ll be sharing the power of your thoughts to create your reality through a mix of science and spirituality. What to do if you have a massive goal to achieve but lack the confidence and self-belief. Lastly, how to flip your thoughts and step into the vision you hold for yourself and your business

Science And Spirituality
You have the power within your thoughts to create or change your reality, just like I did when I learnt to walk again. Let’s take a look at this from two angles.
Science – At the back of our brain, in the amygdala, we have a little thing called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). Its job is to filter out what you focus your attention on. So if you’re spending your time focusing on lack and everything you don’t want, then that’s what you’ll notice more of.
Spirituality – The mind doesn’t know the difference between imagination and reality. Visualisation is a powerful spiritual tool I use every day and in my recovery. I visualised myself walking again, unaided. This played a part in my recovery. If you consistently focus on what you want and visualise it as if you already have it, you’ll call it in faster.
Achieving Big Goals
When you have big goals they can feel out of reach, unattainable even. It can be a big stretch for you to believe that you can achieve your goals when they are so big. But you can make it easier on yourself to achieve your goals.
Using affirmations can be very powerful as they help reprogramme the subconscious mind with new programming. They strengthen our beliefs in new possibilities. Saying that, creating an affirmation, such as ‘I’m earning X amount of income in my coaching business’ or ‘I’m serving x amount of clients in my coaching business’ can be a big leap. So we break down the affirmations and take incremental steps for change.

Holding Your Vision
You created a business because you had a vision. Sometimes you can lose sight of that vision, especially when you are hit with setbacks and challenges. This can affect your confidence and self-belief in achieving your goals and dreams.
To hold the vision strong in your mind, stay focused and hit your goals, it’s important that you flip the switch on your limiting beliefs. Self-awareness is key here.
When you focus on your goals and the vision for your business, notice those sneaky thoughts that creep in. The ones that tell you that you can’t do it, that you’re not good enough. When you notice the thoughts, accept them and let them go. Then reach for your next best feeling thoughts. Do this consistently to reprogramme your mind and stay connected to the vision you have for your business.
