When I think about my own sales story I reflect on the time when I charged just £15 for a full one hour coaching session. Sixty minutes of deep transformation, intuitive insights and energetic shifts for my client. So why was I charging so little for something so valuable? The truth is, I hadn’t embodied my self-worth. I didn’t fully believe in the power of what I offered or feel safe to receive more.
In this week’s blog, I’m sharing how you can begin to break the habit of undercharging and rewrite your own ‘icky’ sales story. Why keeping your prices low and waiting to be found is holding you back more than you realise. And how you can start showing up online with confidence and clarity, without second guessing everything.
Breaking the habit of undercharging
Undercharging is rarely about the money. It’s about the sales story beneath the surface. The one that whispers you’re not good enough, you’re not ready or you don’t deserve more. I’ve heard so many versions of this from clients over the years and maybe some of these feel familiar to you…
Who am I to charge THAT much
No one will pay me that much for my services
I need another certification before I can raise my prices
Other people are more established or more talented than me
I don’t want to put people off or have them miss out
I can’t be rich and spiritual
I’ll lose all my clients if I charge more
Selling feels ‘icky’ and uncomfortable, I don’t want to be pushy
But what if none of that is actually true? What if these are just inherited sales beliefs that you’ve unknowingly carried into your business? It’s time to stop judging yourself for these thoughts and start getting curious. Ask yourself, where did these beliefs come from?
Childhood memories: Take a moment and ask yourself, What was modelled to me about money growing up? Did you hear things like money doesn’t grow on trees or you have to work hard to earn your keep? Was it unsafe to have more, or were people in your family or social circle judged for being successful?
Grab a journal and complete this sentence, ‘I can’t make more sales and charge more because…’. Let your subconscious free write until nothing else comes out. This is not about judgement. It’s about awareness. Awareness is the first step.
Then look for evidence to disprove those beliefs. Can you think of someone who raised their prices and still attracted dream clients? Maybe it was you. Maybe it was someone you admire. The more you show your brain it’s safe to earn more, the easier it becomes to shift your internal thermostat for receiving.
Stop waiting to be found
When you keep your prices low and stay in the background hoping someone will magically find you, you’re not only capping your sales income, you’re reinforcing the belief that you are not enough. That someone else needs to give you permission to rise. But here’s the truth. No one is coming to rescue you. You have to choose to back yourself.
People buy from those who believe in what they’re offering. That energy is contagious. So instead of waiting to be chosen, choose yourself. Decide that you and your work are worthy of being seen, heard and paid well.
Think back to a time where you took brave action, even if it felt uncomfortable. Maybe you posted something vulnerable. Or you raised your prices. Perhaps you pitched yourself even though your hands were shaking. What came from that action? What shifted inside of you?

One of the biggest shifts in your business will happen when you stop hiding and start leading. But showing up online and making more sales when your inner critic is whispering you’re not good enough can feel overwhelming.
Let’s be honest, it’s not just about posting, it’s about the energy behind your content. If you’re doubting and questioning your ability to create impact when putting together your content, your audience will feel it. You could have the most beautifully created post but if your energy says ‘I hope this lands’ rather than ‘this is valuable and you need to hear it’, people will scroll past.
So how do you change that?
Start with your intention: Instead of trying to be perfect, aim to be of service. Before you post or go live or post, ask yourself, What does my client need to hear from me today? When you shift the focus from how you come across to how you can be of service, your confidence will naturally rise.
Build safety in your nervous system: Confidence is not built by just thinking positive thoughts. It’s built by taking small brave actions over and over again. Your nervous system needs to feel safe being seen, so start with low-stakes visibility. Share a story from your journey, comment on someone else’s post or talk about a client win. The more you take action, the more your nervous system realises it’s safe to be visible.
Speak from your embodied experience: Confidence comes from embodiment. If you’ve walked through something and come out the other side, then you are qualified to speak on it. You don’t need a certificate for your lived experience. Share what you’ve moved through, what you’ve learned and how you can help others do the same. That energy is magnetic.
Remember, people don’t buy confidence, they buy clarity. When you’re clear on who you help and how you help them, you can show up with conviction. No second guessing. No overthinking. Just you, being of service. That’s what sells.
