Making space for self-reflection is a powerful practice for getting back in the game when you’re struggling to believe in yourself. Taking the time to understand your thoughts, feelings, and reactions creates powerful shifts. This is because we often suppress our emotions and get caught up in the busyness of being a business owner. Sometimes, we need to slow down to speed up.

Schedule time in your calendar for self-reflection and practise self-awareness. The more you do this, the better you’ll become at identifying limiting beliefs and patterns of self-doubt. You can then work towards reframing those negative beliefs into positive, empowering thoughts and feelings. Just reach for the next best-feeling thought and build from there!

We are often our harshest critics, so take the time to hear positive feedback from others. As Marie Forleo says, “Don’t look at what’s wrong with you, look at what’s right with you.” Instead of dismissing compliments, make an effort to acknowledge and receive positive comments about the value you bring to your coaching clients. Use this positive reinforcement as a powerful reminder of your immense capabilities.

If you’re struggling to believe in your success after a setback, I encourage you to actively seek feedback from clients and colleagues. You’ll be surprised at what you’ll learn about yourself, and I can guarantee this is one of the fastest ways to bounce back.

A great way to overcome self-doubt and go after your dreams is to work with a coach or mentor who will motivate, inspire, and empower you. Find someone who can help you identify your blind spots and hold you accountable when you self-sabotage or doubt your potential.

Having a coach or mentor provides valuable guidance, support, and an external perspective that will benefit you as you navigate your business journey. When you find the right mentor, you’ll have a sounding board to share your hopes, dreams, and fears. This relationship will help you believe in your potential and offers huge opportunities for personal and professional growth. Even coaches can benefit tremendously from having their own coach to move them forward.

Affirmations are a simple yet powerful tool for reprogramming your mindset and believing in yourself more deeply. By repeating positive statements (with feeling) about your abilities and worth, you reinforce an unshakeable belief in your potential.

It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to, has power over you

Start your day by reciting affirmations that resonate with you, such as “I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to” or “I have valuable skills and make a positive impact.” You can even create affirmation screensavers or sticky notes to keep these empowering thoughts top of mind throughout the day. The more you immerse yourself in self-belief, the more it becomes your default mindset.
